November 15, 2008|Greg Braxton

Two-time Oscar nominee Djimon Hounsou will provide the voice of the Black Panther in the BET animated series about the Marvel Comics superhero. The series is being developed by former BET President of Entertainment Reginald Hudlin, who has written for the comic series.

"It's a blessing for African Americans and minorities to have a superhero they can identify with," said Hounsou, who was nominated for supporting roles in "In America" and "Blood Diamond."

The series is scheduled to premiere next year.
