at Brigham Young 75, Long Beach State 65: Lee Cummard scored a career-high 36 points and the Cougars extended the nation's longest home winning streak to 48 games by beating the 49ers at Provo, Utah. Donovan Morris led Long Beach State with 13 points and Cornel Williams had 11 points and 10 rebounds.

Texas State 76, Cal State Fullerton 66: Brent Benson scored 25 points to lead the Bobcats over the Titans in the opening game of the round-robin Tip-Off Classic at Honolulu. Gerard Anderson led Fullerton with 21 points.

Wisconsin Milwaukee 75, Loyola Marymount 51: Tone Boyle made four of his team's 14 three-point baskets and scored 20 points to lead the Panthers over the Lions in the season-opening World Vision Classic at Ames, Iowa. The loss spoiled Bill Bayno's return to college coaching. Vernon Teel led Loyola with 18 points.

at Pepperdine 91, Cal State Monterey Bay 82: Sophomore Mychal Thompson scored a career-high 25 points to lead the Waves over the visiting Otters. Ryan Holmes had a career-high 22 points for Pepperdine.

at UC Santa Barbara 64, Cal State Los Angeles 55: Chris Devine scored 11 of his 17 points in the final 6:37 as the Gauchos held on to defeat the Golden Eagles. Christofer Hart scored 17 of his 21 points in the second half for Cal State L.A.

at Cal State Northridge 73, Cal Lutheran 62: Josh Jenkins scored 16 points and Tony Osunsanmi had 16 rebounds to lead the Matadors over the Kingsmen.
