Big rig turns over on the 10 in Baldwin Park
The crash blocks all eastbound lanes; traffic heading east is being diverted onto the 605.
A big-rig crash blocked all eastbound lanes of the 10 Freeway in Baldwin Park this morning.
The semi-truck jackknifed on its side near Frazier Street at about 7:30 a.m., said Officer Francisco Villalobos of the California Highway Patrol.
Highway officials are trying to determine how many vehicles were involved in the accident, including whether several cars and buses nearby stopped to assist, Villalobos said.
Officials were unsure how long it would take to get the big rig upright and tow it.
"We're looking at at least a couple of hours," Villalobos said, adding that officers may have to unload the cargo.
The transition roads from the 605 Freeway to the eastbound 10 are also closed because they feed into the closed highway, he said. Traffic heading east on the 10 is being diverted onto the 605.
There are no reports of injuries, he said.
