LETTERS / REGULATION

For the good of the country

November 30, 2008

The U.S. has a number of infrastructures that function for the good of the country. Airlines are well regulated by the FAA. Traffic rules allow us to use the roads and freeways safely.

The banks have been let loose to run unregulated so they don't perform their function for the good of the country. If the banks act irresponsibly with our money, then they need to be regulated to perform their function for the good of the country.

Let's get the financial system under control for the good of the country. It's going to be painful but needs to be done.
