Is it any wonder that Tim Tebow remains popular among his teammates even after last year becoming the first sophomore to win the Heisman Trophy?

Angered when Florida State fans in Tallahassee cheered after Percy Harvin, Florida's top receiver, was injured, Tebow delivered this request to Coach Urban Meyer: "I told the coach to give me the ball because I really wanted to hit somebody."

Meyer obliged and, two plays after Harvin's injury, Tebow carried several defenders into the end zone from four yards out.

"When a guy gets hurt, you cheer?" Tebow said. "There's never anything right about that."

SAM BRADFORD, sophomore quarterback, Oklahoma: The way Bradford is playing, he might become the second sophomore to win the Heisman. He accounted for five touchdowns in a key win over Oklahoma State. Stats: 30 for 44 passing for 370 yards and four touchdowns; 16 yards and one touchdown rushing in four carries.

GRAHAM HARRELL, senior quarterback, Texas Tech: Stats: 41 for 50 passing for 309 yards and two touchdowns, with one interception and one fumble.

COLT McCOY, junior quarterback, Texas: On Thursday, McCoy notched college victory No. 31, a 49-9 win over Texas A&M, passing Vince Young to become the winningest starting quarterback in Texas history. Stats: 23 for 28 passing for 311 yards and two touchdowns; 49 yards and two touchdowns rushing in 11 carries.

TIM TEBOW, junior quarterback, Florida: Stats: 12 for 21 passing for 185 yards and three touchdowns; 80 yards and a touchdown rushing in 16 carries.

MICHAEL CRABTREE, sophomore receiver, Texas Tech: Suffered an injury to his right foot midway through the second quarter against Baylor and did not return to the game. Stats: nine catches for 63 yards.
