October 01, 2008|From Times Wire Services

Hilton Hotels Corp. plans to add 150 Caribbean and Latin American properties, quadrupling its presence in the region within five years.

Hilton has 42 hotels in the "development pipeline" in the area, where it already operates 51, the Beverly Hills-based company said.

Hilton, bought last year by Blackstone Group for $20 billion, plans to add 1,000 hotels outside the U.S. within 10 years as it expands in fast-growing regions including Asia, the Middle East, Eastern Europe and now Latin America.
