Deputies shoot, kill stabbing suspect in Rosemead
ROSEMEAD, Calif. -- Authorities say Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies have shot and killed a man suspected of stabbing a woman in Rosemead.
Sheriff's Sgt. Anthony Haynes says deputies arrived at the scene late Tuesday night to find a wounded female stabbing victim, and tracked down the suspect about 45 minutes later.
Deputy Denise Fuchs says the man was shot after a confrontation with deputies and was pronounced dead at the scene. One deputy was injured and taken to a hospital, Fuchs said. She did not know how serious that injury was.
The stabbing victim was also hospitalized. There was no immediate word on her condition.
The sheriff's department did not immediately say what spurred the shooting or how many deputies fired.
Rosemead is about 10 miles east of downtown Los Angeles.
