THE GUIDE
Malibu Pie Festival at Malibu Country Mart
PIE NIRVANA
There’s apple, banana cream and blueberry. Key lime and lemon meringue. Peach, pecan and, of course, pumpkin. More than just a sweet-tooth’s fantasy, this is a sampling of the many pies that will star in the 19th annual Malibu Pie Festival at the Malibu Country Mart. But there’s more to pie than meets the eye: In addition to a celebrity-judged competition and a no-hands pie-eating contest, look for a live auction, kid’s activities and music from the Melvin Eddy Blues Band and Steve Cole’s Jazz Master Funkadelics. 3835 Cross Creek Road, Malibu. 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Sat. Free. (310) 457-7505.
