Clippers' Marcus Camby finishes full workout

NBA

After a bout with flu-like symptoms, the veteran returns to practice. Coach Mike Dunleavy plans to 'work him back in real slow.'

New Clipper Marcus Camby had his first full workout today with his teammates in almost a week, having finally shaken the flu-like symptoms plaguing him during training camp.

Camby didn't go with the Clippers to their open scrimmage at Camp Pendleton on Saturday but stayed behind at their Playa Vista training facility and worked out. He worked out twice more on Sunday when the rest of the team had the day off.

Today , he hung in there until the last segment of drills.

"I imagine I'll work him back in real slow," Clippers Coach Mike Dunleavy said today. "It'll take a bit. I told him go as long as he could go today, let me know when he felt it."

There's not much concern that Camby, 34, has missed too much of the heavy lifting in the early stages of camp. That's the beauty of the word veteran.

"He can catch up," Dunleavy said. "He's so smart. He blended in today, made some really great passes. You could see a little bit of timing was off. His legs weren't there. He didn't shoot the ball from range like he had been."
