Lakers' Phil Jackson to miss exhibition game

LAKERS FYI

Coach has soreness in his legs.

Lakers Coach Phil Jackson did not accompany the team to Anaheim for an exhibition game tonight because of soreness in his legs, a team spokesman said.

Assistant coach Kurt Rambis will take Jackson's place on the sidelines tonight against Utah.

Jackson saw a doctor this afternoon and underwent tests on the legs, though results will not be available until Wednesday.

"We do not anticipate it's anything serious at all," team spokesman John Black said. "We felt, and he felt, it would be better for him to stay at home and watch the game on TV."

After tonight, the Lakers' next exhibition game is Thursday against the Clippers in Fresno.

------

Andrew Bynum will not be in the starting lineup tonight against Utah.

The Lakers' starters will be Kobe Bryant, Derek Fisher, Pau Gasol, Lamar Odom and Trevor Ariza.

The starters are not expected to play many minutes, in particular Bryant and Gasol, so Bynum will probably get plenty of time as a reserve.
