Oregon leads UCLA at the half, 14-0

Ducks quarterback Jeremiah Masoli produces all the offense as Bruins still can't get untracked on the road.
EUGENE, Ore. -- Jeremiah Masoli provided more than enough offense for Oregon in the first half against UCLA Saturday night.
The sophomore quarterback rushed for 128 yards and threw a 22-yard touchdown pass to Chris Harper as Oregon took a 14-0 halftime lead.
Masoli, who started the season as a backup, remained in the lineup even though Justin Roper was healthy enough to play. Roper suffered a knee injury against Purdue on Sept. 13.
Masoli was the first Oregon quarterback to gain more than 100 yards rushing since Dennis Dixon in the 2007 season opener against Houston.
Standing pat was the right move, at least through the first half. Masoli's mobility gave the Bruins problems. Oregon went 70 yards in nine plays for its first touchdown, with Masoli gaining 30 on five carries. He scored on a five-yard run, where he faked out Korey Bosworth at the four, then eased into the end zone.
Masoli and the Ducks continued to move the ball on the ground, but the Bruins managed to make key stops. Masoli scooted around end on a 30-yard run in the first quarter, but the drive stalled and Matt Evensen missed on a 42-yard field goal try.
Masoli had runs of 16 and 14 yards on the Ducks' next possession, only to have Evensen's 50-yard field-goal attempt blocked by Reginald Stokes after the drive stalled.
The Bruins could look on with envy at even that morsel of offense. UCLA has not scored a point in six quarters on the road this season. The Bruins had eight possessions in the first half, with four being three-and-out and a fifth ending when quarterback Kevin Craft took a knee to end the half.
UCLA had four first downs and Craft was sacked three times. The Bruins had 95 total yards and gained only 25 yards rushing in 20 carries.
The Bruins reached the Oregon 29 yard line on their first possession. The drive ended with Kai Forbath pushing a 47-yard field-goal try to the left.
Tailback Kahlil Bell left the game after re-injuring his left ankle in the second quarter.
