The perpetually touring genre-bending performer Beck has listed his Malibu beach home at $2,399,000. Who needs a second home when you are barely around long enough to use your first one?
The Malibu home, described in the Multiple Listing Service as "a very hip mid-century ranch," has three bedrooms and two bathrooms. There are pitched ceilings, hardwood floors and a great room overlooking private gardens and a lawn. No ocean views, but they aren't far away. There is a separate two-bedroom, one-bathroom guesthouse with a fireplace. Public records put the square footage at about 1,600; the home was built in 1961.
Beck, 38, is considered to be among the most creative and idiosyncratic musicians of the last 20 years. He first earned mainstream recognition with his breakthrough single "Loser" in 1994. Beck is currently on a world tour promoting his latest album, "Modern Guilt." He is married to actress Marissa Ribisi.
