Messages to be taken from 'W.'

October 25, 2008

If you are a conservative, don't be afraid to see "W." George W. Bush is portrayed with much more sympathy by Oliver Stone than by the liberal media the last eight years ["A Compassionate, Conservative 'W.,' " by Kenneth Turan, Oct. 17]. If you are a liberal, it is your duty to spend $6-$8 to have your hate thermometer adjusted.

Regardless of where you stand on the issue, there's no arguing that George W. Bush has offended and angered Muslims worldwide throughout his presidency. It's interesting to me that the ads for the new "W." film show the president reclining at his desk, feet up, soles of his shoes right in the viewer's face -- to Muslims, that is the equivalent of giving a person the finger, and highly offensive. A coincidence?
