Cookies may be contaminated

Lotte USA Inc. is recalling Koala's March creme-filled cookies because they may be contaminated with melamine, the industrial chemical blamed for killing four infants and sickening 54,000 children in China.

The recall covers king-size chocolate, white chocolate and strawberry flavors. It also includes family pack-size chocolate, white chocolate, strawberry, chestnut, Hawaii chocolate and Hawaii pineapple flavors. The cookies were distributed nationwide and to Canada.

* About 200,000 battery-operated toy speedboats imported from China by Dollar General Merchandising Inc. are being recalled because the battery terminals can come into contact and overheat, posing a risk of burns. * About 57,000 Rage Wireless Guitars, made in China and distributed by Performance Designed Products, are being recalled because a circuit board defect can cause the guitar's AA batteries to leak if the batteries are installed incorrectly, posing a risk of chemical burns. The controller, colored blue or white, is designed to be used on the Nintendo Wii system. The product was sold at mass merchandisers and specialty retailers nationwide from June through September. * About 47,000 Blue Ember Gas Grills, made in China by Keesung Manufacturing Co. and Unisplendor Corp. and imported by Fiesta Gas Grills, are being recalled because the grills can be assembled improperly and expose the gas burner hoses to excessive heat, posing fire and burn hazards to consumers. The recall involves Blue Ember liquid propane or natural gas outdoor grills, models FG50057 or FG50069.
