They've been cartoon characters, a TV series and movie stars. Now "The Addams Family" is headed to the stage.

A musical version of "The Addams Family, " which features a book by the "Jersey Boys" team of Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice plus music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa, will begin a Broadway tryout in Chicago in November next year, with hopes of moving to New York the following spring.

Casting hasn't been announced, but the workshop productions have included Nathan Lane as Gomez and Bebe Neuwirth as Morticia; the producers are hoping both will want to continue.
