Man found shot to death at remote canyon road in Malibu

Responding to reports of a shooting, deputies find the victim in an area of multimillion-dollar estates.

Sheriff's deputies are investigating the fatal shooting of a man Tuesday night in Malibu.

Los Angeles County deputies found the victim in the 3600 block of Noranda Lane near Encinal Canyon Road at 7 p.m. when they responded to reports of a shooting, said Deputy Derrick Thompson. The victim was described as an adult white male.

The site appears to be a remote canyon road, home to at least two sprawling 20-acre estates recently listed for sale at about $15 million each.

Sheriff's homicide detectives did not return calls this morning and no other information was available, a sheriff's spokesman said.
