A 29-year-old man was shot and killed Saturday night as he walked near his home in South Los Angeles, police said.

Christopher Dajan Avery was walking home in the 600 block of West 99th Street about 11:20 p.m. when he was shot numerous times by two men, said Los Angeles Police Officer Kate Lopez.

Police had not recovered the gun or released descriptions of the suspects Sunday morning, Lopez said.

She said the shooting was probably gang-related.

In another South Los Angeles shooting, a man was killed Sunday morning after getting into an argument, authorities said. Lopez said a man shot and killed the 34-year-old man about 10:10 a.m. and then fled in a car from the 900 block of West 48th Street.

Lopez said the victim was taken to a hospital, where he died.
