Paris Hilton’s in the room
TORONTO – Paris Hilton was present but not accounted for on Tuesday night at the world premiere of Adria Petty’s 68-minute documentary “Paris, Not France” at the Ryerson Theatre. Hilton attended the screening, although she never took to the stage or addressed the crowd apart from a friendly wave on her way out immediately after the credits rolled.
A snapshot portrait of the year Petty (daughter of musician Tom ) spent traveling with and interviewing Hilton, the film had generated some buzz when its lone press screening and two of its three public screenings were mysteriously pulled.
Petty said fear of piracy caused the cancellations. As to why this is more of a concern for her film than any other in the festival, Petty said, “People steal everything with this chick, every single thing. It has a lot of street value.”
