* at Washington 7, New York 2: John Lannan (9-13) gave up one hit in seven innings and Anderson Hernandez had a two-run single to help send the Mets to their third loss in four games and reduce their lead to half a game over second-place Philadelphia in the National League East.

* at Arizona 3, San Francisco 1: Adam Dunn hit a home run in the eighth inning and the Diamondbacks won for only the second time in 10 games to stay 4 1/2 games behind the first-place Dodgers in the NL West.

* San Diego 11, at Colorado 5: Adrian Gonzalez hit a home run and drove in four runs, rookie Wade LeBlanc (1-1) earned his first win and rookie Matt Antonelli hit his first home run for the Padres.

* Chicago 6, Houston 1 (at Milwaukee): Ted Lilly (15-9) pitched no-hit ball until Mark Loretta's seventh-inning single and the Cubs swept a two-game series moved from the Astros' home park because of Hurricane Ike.

* Dodgers 8, at Pittsburgh 2: Hiroki Kuroda (9-10) gave up three hits over seven shutout innings for his first road win in more than two months.
