Two men were killed and three others wounded Tuesday evening in a shooting near an MTA Blue Line station in Compton, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said.
The shootings occurred about 6:30 p.m. near Compton Boulevard and Willowbrook Avenue, Sheriff's Deputy Byron Ward said. The two men died at the scene, and the conditions of the other victims, two women and a man, were not immediately available, he said.
Ward knew of no possible motive and didn't know whether the shootings were gang-related.
MTA trains bypassed the Compton station during the initial investigation into the shootings, an agency spokesman said.
