Washington 8, at New York 1: Jordan Zimmermann (2-0) gave up one run over 5 1/3 innings, and the Nationals earned their first road victory.

at Houston 3, Milwaukee 2: Ivan Rodriguez hit a tiebreaking home run in the fourth inning, and the Astros ended the Brewers' winning streak at four games.

at Cincinnati 8, Atlanta 2: Jay Bruce hit two home runs and drove in four runs and Micah Owings (1-2) earned his first win in nearly a year.

Pittsburgh 8, at San Diego 3: Ross Ohlendorf (2-2) pitched into the eighth inning, and Adam LaRoche hit two home runs for the Pirates.

at Arizona 5, San Francisco 4 (12 innings): Conor Jackson's bases-loaded single in the 12th inning won it for the Diamondbacks, who tied the score, 4-4, with a three-run ninth.
