CLEVELAND — Jason Bay hit a three-run home run off Kerry Wood in the ninth inning to give the Boston Red Sox a 3-1 win over the Cleveland Indians on Monday night, their 11th consecutive victory.

Bay had three hits. In his last four games, he has nine hits, including two home runs, and nine runs batted in.

Cleveland's Cliff Lee gave up five hits in eight innings, walked none and struck out five.

Wood, the former Chicago Cubs All-Star, walked Dustin Pedroia to open the ninth inning and David Ortiz hit a bloop single to set up Bay's fifth home run.

Wakefield blanked the Indians on one hit -- a first-inning single by Victor Martinez -- over seven innings. Manny Delcarmen (1-0) pitched the eighth inning and Jonathan Papelbon pitched the ninth to earn his fifth save.
