August 02, 2009|Times Wire Reports

One person died and at least 19 were injured after a storm whipped through an outdoor country music festival, causing a stage to collapse.

Police in Camrose confirmed one death, four critical injuries, and 15 other people transported to hospitals, the Canadian Press reported. Scores of people were apparently trapped in the wreckage.

Strong winds began whipping up dust and suddenly the stage collapsed at the Big Valley Jamboree in Camrose, east of Edmonton in central Canada.
