at New York 9, St. Louis 0: After Mets starter Jon Niese suffered a season-ending hamstring tear, Nelson Figueroa pitched 4 1/3 scoreless innings and hit a two-run triple.

San Francisco 10, at Houston 6: Joe Martinez came off the disabled list to win his first major league start, and catcher Eli Whiteside hit a grand slam for his first career home run as the Giants rallied from a 3-0 deficit.

Atlanta 6, at San Diego 2: Rookie Tommy Hanson held the Padres to two hits through five scoreless innings and the Braves had 14 hits, all singles.

at Washington 5, Florida 4: Cristian Guzman fell a home run shy of the cycle, Adam Dunn homered in his third consecutive game and the Nationals won their fourth in a row.

Arizona 4, at Pittsburgh 3: Stephen Drew hit a tiebreaking two-run single in the eighth inning.

at Cincinnati 4, Chicago 0: Scott Rolen hit a two-run homer on his first swing since returning from a beaning and Justin Lehr limited the Cubs to four hits in his first complete game.
