VS. TORONTO

When: 7:30.

Where: Home Depot Center.

On the air: TV: Prime Ticket. Radio: 690.

Records: Chivas USA 9-7-3, Toronto 8-7-6.

Record vs. Toronto: 0-1-0.

Update: Having ended a five-game losing streak with a 2-0 victory at New York last time out -- a win that dropped the Red Bulls to a league-worst 2-16-4 and led to Coach Carlos Osorio's resignation Friday -- Chivas is trying to maintain its momentum. Goalkeeper Zach Thornton described the win as "huge," saying it was vital for Chivas "just to get off that downward spiral." Despite the team's recent loss of form and inability to score, Thornton has kept it in contention. He leads MLS with a 0.83 goals-against average and has eight shutouts, second-most in the league. Coach Preki's team is in fifth in the Western Conference, but has played from one to four matches fewer than the teams ahead of it. Mexican forward Jesus Padilla, acquired from Chivas de Guadalajara, could make his MLS debut, as could Brazilian forward Maicon Santos, 25, who was acquired on loan from Bonsucesso FC of Brazil on Friday.
