CLIPPERS TONIGHT

Up next for the Clippers: Friday vs. Phoenix

It was supposed to be a showcase for Blake Griffin, but he remains injured. Los Angeles will be looking to avenge a last-second loss to Phoenix in late October.

December 25, 2009

Clippers tonight

AT PHOENIX

When: 5 PST.

Where: US Airways Center.

On the air: TV: Prime Ticket, ESPN. Radio: 980.

Records: Clippers 12-16, Suns 18-11.

Record vs. Suns: 0-1.

Update: The Clippers are venturing into unusual territory for the first time in many years. This will be their first Christmas Day game since 1992. They lost by four points to the San Antonio Spurs that day. Today was supposed to allow now-injured Clippers rookie Blake Griffin to take center stage, not a homage to that long-and-storied rivalry between the Suns and Clippers. Kidding aside, the Clippers and Suns did produce a highly entertaining game in their only meeting this season, on Oct. 28 at Staples Center. Suns point guard Steve Nash made the winning shot with 5.5 seconds remaining.
