New airline security rules

Following the Northwest Airlines incident, passengers may encounter new security measures at airports and on flights. Officials said the measures may vary from airport to airport. They include:

* Pat-down searches and additional screening.

* Longer lines and recommended earlier arrival times for flights.

* Limits for carry-on items.

* During a flight's final hour, no leaving seat, using electronic devices or having personal items on laps.
