Broadcom plans to slash 200 jobs

Broadcom Corp., a maker of semiconductors for wireless headsets and television set-top boxes, will cut 200 jobs, or 3% of its workforce.

The plan will cost $8 million to $10 million, the Irvine company said in a filing.
