Season series: Ducks, 3-2.

Update: Ten days ago, this game loomed as important for playoff positioning. Now, neither team is in the top eight in the West. Both are starting a tough stretch: This will be the Ducks' final home game before a six-game trip, and the Kings will play seven of eight games on the road. Jonathan Quick, pulled early in the Kings' 7-6 shootout loss to Atlanta on Monday, is set to start in goal. Ducks center Sammy Pahlsson (viral infection) underwent tests Tuesday but wasn't cleared to play and won't go on the upcoming trip.
