GAME OF THE DAY
No. 22 Long Beach Wilson (12-4, 0-1) at No. 21 Long Beach Poly (11-2, 1-0)
Tonight, 6:30.
Why it matters: Wilson is trying to challenge Poly for Moore League supremacy. The Bruins had won 11 of 12 games before a 60-54 loss against Long Beach Millikan on Wednesday in which Wilson's Michael Wilder scored 21 points.
THURSDAY'S RESULT
No. 3 Riverside King 63, Corona Santiago 34
Leading contributors: Senior guard Kawhi Leonard had 17 points and 10 assists for host King. Travis Fulton had 15 points for Santiago.
The scoop: Portland State signee Chris Harriel, who sat out King's loss to Corona Centennial on Tuesday with a hip injury, scored 17 points.
Why it matters: The presence of Harriel allowed King to return to full strength and reassert itself as a Big VIII League power after an upset loss. "When we have all the weapons, we're a real good team," Wolves Coach Tim Sweeney Jr. said.
Records: King 10-2, 3-1; Santiago 12-4, 3-1.
