For someone in the healing profession, Rahul Parikh is incredibly obtuse ["Put Away That List of Demands," Jan. 19]. He walked in the room and made a negative assessment about the mother, based on her attire, before either one had said a word.
Isn't it the doctor's responsibility to look beyond external manifestations? I can understand his irritation with the mother's insistence, but she never had a chance with him. Had he addressed both mother and teen respectfully, he might have gotten the same in return.
