Let's make a deal

July 18, 2009

Ned Colletti and the Dodgers need to find a way to acquire Toronto ace Roy Halladay. With about half a season gone, his $14-million salary is now $7 million. They saved a bunch of money on Manny's 50-game suspension and can easily convert right field or any other section into none other than . . . Hallawood.

For any Dodgers fans watching the All-Star game, I just want to clarify that, yes, that blur you saw during the fifth inning -- the pitcher with the Dwight Gooden delivery who threw four quick pitches to record three outs -- was the same Edwin Jackson who Ned Colletti gave away a couple of years ago.
