Water Polo
Water polo is a tough sport, but it is fun. My favorite parts are when we play football or scrimmage. It is awesome when we scrimmage at the high school. Well, we mostly lose, but I don't care. Well, maybe I do. But at least I have fun.
Football in the Summer
Gabi, 8

Huntington Beach
As the quarterback rushes for the ball, the crowd cheers. I stand in a cloud of cotton candy that smells like victory. As I taste sweet happiness in the Pegasus team, I hold the game ball, slick with mud, smoothly in my hands.

The forest is bright with the green of the moss -- bugs buzzing by in colorful tunes. The insects carry on their concert. Chameleons blend into the verdant vines. Discordant sounds ring out. Nothing but green. This is the Rainforest.
Summer Ball Game
Isabel, 8
Magic Pen Kids

I bounce the big yellow ball in the sky as the summer rain tap dances on the cement. A fragrant cloud of happiness rushes toward me. My bubble gum lollipop is sweet against my teeth. I touch the sun.

"Growing up with Loukoumi Dream Day Contest" -- draw what you want to be when you grow up. I drew Loukoumi and me working at NASA. The author Nick Katsoris called and said my Dream Day would come true! I screamed so loud the neighbors could hear me. On May 25, 2008, I witnessed the Phoenix land on Mars! Everyone was cheering and screaming! It was an incredible experience. I thanked Mr. Katsoris a thousand times. Like the book "Growing Up With Loukoumi" says, "Believe in yourself and dreams really do come true!"
