New York 5, at Atlanta 1: Johan Santana (11-7) shut out the Braves for seven innings, extending his scoreless-innings streak to 15.

Arizona 4, at St. Louis 2: Dan Haren (10-5) allowed one run in eight innings and Miguel Montero homered and had four hits for the Diamondbacks.

Milwaukee 5, at Cincinnati 1: Craig Counsell's solo homer started a four-run fourth-inning rally against Aaron Harang, who is 0-6 in his last 10 starts and hasn't won since May 25.

at San Diego 3, Colorado 1: Chase Headley's pinch-hit homer leading off the seventh broke a 1-1 tie.

Philadelphia at Florida, ppd: The rained-out game likely will be played as part of a September doubleheader.

at Dodgers 5, Houston 2: Orlando Hudson had three hits and Matt Kemp had two RBIs.
