Baltimore 6, at Boston 2: Nick Markakis hit a home run and drove in three runs. The Orioles had lost 11 games in a row at Boston.

at Toronto 5, Tampa Bay 1: Scott Rolen hit a three-run home run to back up rookie Brett Cecil (4-1). It was the first loss in the last six decisions for rookie Jeff Niemann (9-5).

Texas 7, at Kansas City 2: Reliever Dustin Nippert (3-0) gave up one hit in 4 2/3 innings and the Rangers scored all of their runs against the Royals' bullpen.
