Cleveland Browns receiver Donte' Stallworth was indefinitely suspended by the NFL on Thursday for driving drunk and killing a pedestrian in Miami.
Stallworth, who will not be paid during the suspension, pleaded guilty this month to a DUI manslaughter charge for striking Mario Reyes on March 14.
He began serving a 30-day jail sentence Tuesday and has reached a financial settlement with the family of the 59-year-old construction worker.

Ferrer loses in grass tuneup
Ivan Navarro upset defending champion David Ferrer, 6-4, 6-2, in a match between Spaniards to reach the Ordina Open semifinals in Den Bosch, Netherlands. Dinara Safina also advanced in the grass-court tuneup for Wimbledon.

Virginie Razzano upset defending champion Agnieszka Radwanska, 7-6 (5), 7-5, to reach the semifinals of the Eastbourne Championships in Eastbourne, England.
In the men's draw, Fabrice Santoro advanced when Ivan Ljubicic retired because of a left ankle injury.

Ovechkin wins MVP again
Washington Capitals forward Alex Ovechkin won the Hart Trophy as NHL MVP for the second straight year. Detroit Red Wings center Pavel Datsyuk won the Selke Trophy as the league's top defensive forward and the Lady Byng for gentlemanly play and skill.
Boston Bruins goalie Tim Thomas, who had a 2.10 goals-against average, won the Vezina Trophy for best goalie, and Zdeno Chara earned the Norris Trophy as top defenseman. The Bruins' Claude Julien was given the Jack Adams Award as the NHL's top coach. Columbus goalie Steve Mason took the Calder Trophy as rookie of the year. Kings defenseman Drew Doughty and Ducks forward Bobby Ryan were named to the all-rookie team.

Minor damage for UCLA's Gordon
An examination of UCLA forward Drew Gordon's injured right knee showed only minor damage. Gordon suffered a partially torn patellar tendon at a USA Basketball event this week, but doctors say the injury will not require surgery.

The NCAA infractions committee intends to uphold sanctions against Florida State that would take away wins in 10 sports, including as many as 14 by football Coach Bobby Bowden. After a public records lawsuit and intervention by Florida's attorney general, the NCAA allowed Florida State to release the committee's June 2 response to FSU's appeal of the NCAA punishment that would strip the school of the victories.
