My dad tastes like cinnamon and Indian spices. His skin is as brown as a chestnut. He makes a crazy animal voice when he purses his lips and blows air out. And I taste delight until the tears almost splash out. He is like a cuddly elephant. I just want to hug him all the time. He stays at work until midnight so that we can have food, water and a house to live in. He is the center of my wonderful family. I appreciate him so much. He is one of the best men on Earth.

True Story
Heather, 11
Roosevelt Elementary
Santa Monica
I was at Catalina Sea Camp. One time, I chose the nighttime activity, swimming in the ocean at night. We got a lesson on how to be safe and what we might see. Soon, I was in my wetsuit, had my underwater flashlight and snorkel. I looked out at the ocean and smiled. Something amazing was going to happen. We saw sharks. It was fascinating to be swimming with them. We also saw huge stingrays, cool fish, and even an octopus! It was one of the most amazing nights of my life! Go Sea Camp!

I taste the smooth blue freshness of the air as the kids pounce on each other like a pack of wild tigers. I hear the growling and toppling waves while the smooth and cold beach ball flies through the air like a colorful fat parrot. The sweet smell of cinnamon wafts from my house. My mother is baking gingerbread men!

I Feel the Wind . . .
Tommy, kindergarten
Colfax Elementary
North Hollywood
I feel the wind blowing against my body. I hear my family calling my name. I smell my dinner getting colder waiting for me to get to it. I taste the fish and water when I get home.
