Rehab report
Santana, who returned to the disabled list Tuesday because of an inflamed triceps, threw an aggressive bullpen workout Friday and is scheduled to throw 45 pitches in an Arizona Summer League game Sunday.
Scioscia said it was possible the right-hander will need only one rehabilitation start before being activated.
"He needs to show he's healthy, and we'll go from there," Scioscia said.
Stretching out
Vladimir Guerrero, relegated to designated hitter as he recovers from a torn right chest muscle, has progressed to 150 feet in his throwing program but needs to extend to 200 feet before throwing to the bases.
Scioscia said Guerrero, who will be limited to pinch-hitting duties this weekend against the Diamondbacks, could return to the outfield "within a couple of weeks."
