Hear ye! Hear ye! On December 16, 1773, Boston Port -- Mohawks walk in silence revolting the British court. Three hundred forty-two chests of tea destroyed. That got Parliament annoyed. All that tea left to rot. They turned Griffin Wharf into a giant teapot. King George made sure the Boston Harbor would be blocked. Nothing to go in or out -- but the Colonists did without. The Colonists were upset. The Boston Tea Party is history we will never forget.

All alone. The pencil put away until morning. One blank page on one dusty desk. In two hours a girl or boy will walk in and start writing on it.

Freedom Is Here

Grant, 10

Kline School

Costa Mesa

My vacation sparkles like a diamond. It is the shouting of a man who has just been given his freedom. The feel of slippery suntan lotion warms my body -- the splash of coconut juice swirls into my icy cold glass as the smooth air whispers, "Freedom is here!"

Jeb

Nancy, 10

Webster Elementary

Malibu

My buddy Jeb left today. It was hard to say, what happened. Bombs were dropping this way and that, Jeb and I were in combat. A grenade was thrown, and blood was shown. He held me close, and his eyes went closed. Oh! I miss Jeb.

Thanks for My Freedom

Arjun, 7

Tustin Ranch Elementary

Tustin

I am thankful for freedom because we have the freedom to be ourselves. I can dream dreams and make them come true. I can celebrate my culture and festivals. Thank you to our leaders for making this a free country.
