The T.J. factor

March 14, 2009

In this age of the Internet and with many famous newspapers fast becoming nothing more than cyberspace sites, it's time we gave some credit to T.J. Simers. Love him or hate him, at least he's been able to sell some newspapers. That's a lot more than can be said for a majority of the columnists who work for the L.A. Times and other publications.

So what if he manufactures some controversy. He never does it with malicious intent and it's all part of "the game." Yes, he knocks a few sports icons off their pedestals. They usually deserve it.

Simers has always been there to remind the public that just because some guys can hit a 95-mph fastball or shoot a basketball from 30 feet, it doesn't make them any better than anyone else -- just a lot richer.
