at Utah 99, Houston 86: Ronnie Brewer scored 12 of his 17 points in the second half and the Jazz ended the Rockets' winning streak at four games. Utah pulled to within half a game of Denver for the Northwest Division lead and knocked Houston into second in the Southwest, half a game behind San Antonio. Deron Williams had 19 points and 12 assists for the Jazz, which blocked a season-high 12 shots. Aaron Brooks scored 20 points and Yao Ming had 14 points and 13 rebounds for the Rockets.

at Chicago 99, Detroit 91: Kirk Hinrich scored 24 points filling in for the injured Derrick Rose and the Bulls pulled to within a game of the seventh-place Pistons in the Eastern Conference. Ben Gordon scored 19, Tyrus Thomas had 18 points and 12 rebounds, and Joakim Noah scored 15 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as Chicago earned its fifth win in six games. Tayshaun Prince and Will Bynum scored 20 each for Detroit, which didn't have Allen Iverson, Rasheed Wallace and Richard Hamilton because of injuries.
