How to Get Your Muddy Diploma

I roll around in delicious hot chocolatey mud, slipping and squirming, scratching and rolling, tickled that I do not have to stay still and tidy, for I am a pig. And that means I am allergic to being clean. You cannot tell on me to my mother, because she is as muddy as I am. I learned all this at Miss Piggy's School for Nice Pigs, where we are all as muddy as can be, even Miss Piggy, who is the muddiest of all. At Pig Cotillion, Miss Piggy taught us to always eat with our hooves and to never wipe our snouts. And when we graduate, we will receive a Muddy Diploma.

So Tired
Jasmine, 8
Coeur d'Alene Elementary
Venice
So tired, so stressed, wanting more sleep, too upset to get up. My alarm clock wakes me. Too lazy, too tired. Wishing moms can let you out of hard times, hard decisions. Rain pouring. Spirits whispering. My heart pounding deeply. Feeling water coming out of my eyes, tears dropping down my face. Wondering what it's like being in cold snow. Knowing my friend has had some bumpy roads. Having so many questions in mind. Hoping a spirit will be able to answer them. Waking up. Noticing it was all a dream. My alarm clock rings. Ready to find answers.

Tons of toppings fill the room and we laugh as flavors splash into bowls. A sweet sugary scent fills the air. Chocolate, vanilla and strawberry tingle my tongue as we hold our cold shivering bowls in freezing hands.

The Breeze

All through the forest the breeze makes a melody of trees and leaves, too.
