Helicopter was to be in a show

A 1951 military helicopter that crashed Saturday, killing all three men on board, was headed to an aircraft and classic car show honoring U.S. veterans at Flabob Airport in Riverside, the event's director said.

The Piasecki PV-18 helicopter had been booked to appear as a non-flying display through Classic Rotors, a rare and vintage rotorcraft museum in Ramona, Calif., show director Jon Goldenbaum said Sunday.

The Federal Aviation Administration said the helicopter hit power lines after taking off from Adelanto Airport. It crashed and burst into flames about a mile into the flight. The three men were identified through dental records, the San Bernardino County coroner's office said. Their names have yet to be released.
