Update: The Lakers have swept the two-game series the last two seasons and won six of the last seven games. Kobe Bryant (24,161 points) is 16 points shy of passing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (24,176) for second on the Lakers' all-time scoring list. Jerry West (25,192) holds the team record. Lakers Coach Phil Jackson passed Larry Brown for fifth on the NBA's all-time coaching list in victories with 1,049. The Bulls' second-year point guard Derrick Rose, averaging 13.4 points and 5.5 assists a game, continues to impress, and their willowy center, Joakim Noah, leads the NBA in rebounding, with an average of 12.4 a game. The Bulls will be without a key reserve in Tyrus Thomas, who has a broken left forearm.
