Same story, different year. Florida and Alabama play in Saturday's Southeastern Conference title game, with the winner advancing to the national title game and the loser going to the Sugar Bowl. Florida won last year's epic in Atlanta and then beat Oklahoma to win the national championship.

Table-turning time? In 1996, Texas knocked Nebraska out of the national title game with a shocking upset victory in the Big 12 championship game. This year, the shock will be if Nebraska knocks Texas out of the title game.

ESPN looks like a genius for moving this year's Civil War to a stand-alone Thursday night showcase, never imagining it would be the biggest Oregon-Oregon State game ever contested, with the winner advancing to the Rose Bowl.

This is the last week to make Heisman Trophy statements. Stanford's Toby Gerhart might be the leader in the clubhouse, but there are heavyweights still out on the course, namely Colt McCoy and Tim Tebow, who are playing in conference title games.

Cincinnati can wrap up a perfect regular season and clinch the Big East title with a victory at Pittsburgh. A Pitt win makes the Panthers the Big East champions and leaves one-loss Cincinnati dangling in the BCS wind.
