Re "A touchy subject on campus," Oct. 3
I was appalled at the callous disregard of the students in this story who kept their roommates out of their college dorm rooms for extended periods during sexual activities -- or worse, kept their roommates awake for much of the night while carrying on in the same room.
Why should parents sacrifice to send their children to college, only to endure such abuse? Maybe the sacrosanct ideal of parents sending young people off to a distant college should be reconsidered. There is nothing wrong with living at home -- where one can study and sleep in peace.
