U2, and you, on YouTube

October 20, 2009|Todd Martens

Not one of the 95,000 or so people descending upon Pasadena this Sunday for U2's gig at the Rose Bowl? The band has thought of you too. Or, perhaps more accurately, you will benefit from the filming of the concert for an upcoming DVD release.

In an e-mail blast sent out to fans Monday, U2 announced that it would stream Sunday night's concert on YouTube.

The Google-owned video streaming site said that the concert would be archived and available to view after it streams live, with overlay advertising.

Meanwhile, in an effort to get more fans to use public transportation for the event, U2 promoter Live Nation said that the Gold, Red, Blue and Green rail lines would operate on extended hours Sunday.
