Joe Martinek had 139 yards rushing and scored twice on short runs, linebacker Steve Beauharnais scored off his blocked punt and Rutgers beat Army, 27-10, on Friday night at West Point, N.Y.

It was the sixth straight victory for Rutgers (5-2) over Army (3-5) and evened the series at 18-18. The Black Knights have lost 12 straight games against Big East Conference teams since beating Rutgers, 37-35, in 1997.

Tom Savage completed 10 of 20 passes for 164 yards to become only the second freshman quarterback in Rutgers history to win a road game.

Florida hurting

Second-ranked Florida could be without three defensive starters against Mississippi State today.

Linebacker Brandon Spikes and defensive tackles Jaye Howard and Lawrence Marsh practiced sparingly this week. Coach Urban Meyer said he didn't know whether any of them would play.
