Snowstorm closes roads, delays jets

October 29, 2009|Times Wire Reports

A storm bringing the first heavy snow of autumn to the Rockies and western Plains crippled parts of Colorado and Wyoming, forcing road closures and sending students home early. The region received up to 2 feet of snow but braced for twice that as forecasters warned the storm would linger at least another day. The weather also delayed flights at Denver International Airport.
