No. 9 Brigham Young 54, at Tulane 3: Max Hall threw two touchdown passes, Bryan Kariya scored twice and the Cougars (2-0) beat the Green Wave (0-2). Hall completed 24 of 32 passes for 309 yards, with two touchdowns and one interception before leaving the game in the fourth quarter. BYU had 527 yards of total offense, including 209 on the ground.

Southern Methodist 35, at Alabama Birmingham 33: B.L. Mitchell threw for 353 yards and three touchdowns and the Mustangs (2-0, 1-0) held off the Blazers (1-1, 1-1) in a Conference USA game.

at Southern Mississippi 26, Central Florida 19: Austin Davis threw for 253 yards and a touchdown to lead the Golden Eagles (2-0, 1-0) over the Golden Knights (1-1, 0-1) in a C-USA game.

at Navy 32, Louisiana Tech 14: Marcus Curry ran for 124 yards and a score, Ricky Dobbs scored twice and the Midshipmen (1-1) overcame a 14-point deficit to beat the Bulldogs (0-2).

New Hampshire 23, at Ball State 16: Sean Jellison had two touchdowns and the Wildcats (2-0) held on to beat the Cardinals (0-2).

at Akron 41, Morgan State 0: Chris Jacquemain threw three touchdown passes to lead the Zips (1-1) over the Bears (0-1).

at Northern Illinois 41, Western Illinois 7: Chad Spann scored three first-half touchdowns to lead the Huskies (1-1) over the Leathernecks (1-1).

Ohio 31, at North Texas 30 (2OT): Theo Scott and Taylor Price hooked up for a 15-yard touchdown and the ensuing two-point conversion pass as the Bobcats (1-1) beat the Mean Green (1-1).

at Middle Tennessee State 31, Memphis 14: Dwight Dasher passed for 231 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Blue Raiders (1-1) over the Tigers (0-2).

at Louisiana Monroe 58, Texas Southern 0: Frank Goodin scored three touchdowns to lead the Warhawks (1-1) over the Tigers (0-3).
